Clarence Kangaroos vs North Launceston Bombers – Round 3

On Saturday afternoon Clarence hosted North Launceston for their first home game at Blundstone Arena since 2019.

A tightly fought game, both teams were evenly matched in the first quarter.

Clarence were unable to register any score in the second quarter while North Launceston star Bradley Cox-Goodyer was the only player kicking goals, bagging three total on the day.

Clarence’s Jacob Steele put in an early submission for mark of the year with a huge hanger over North Launceston’s Thomas Bennet.

Clarence dominated the third quarter, booting seven goals and leading by 25 points into three quarter time. Three of those goals came courtesy of Ollie Preshaw who would be the day’s leading goal scorer with four.

Despite a North Launceston surge in the fourth the Roos would hold on to win 11 points.

The highlight players for the Bombers were captain Jay Foon with 31 disposals and the rucking dominance of Alexander Lee with 58 hitouts.

Clarence’s midfield continues to impress with Ethan Jackson cementing himself as one of the top players this season with 26 disposals.

Serial ball winner Baxter Norton is proving to be a great pickup for Clarence this year.

Clarence playing coach Jeromey Webberley had his best game of the season so far with a game high 33 disposals.

Clarence will enjoy a week off in round four with a bye. North Launceston will hope to bounce back against Lauderdale at Skybus Oval on Saturday.

Final Score: Clarence 12.1.(73) def. North Launceston 9.8.(62)

Other Results:

Glenorchy Magpies 10.7.(67) def. Lauderdale Bombers 5.11.(41)
